The Shadow Game is an excellent and addictive new flash game that pays homage to games like N+ but with its own spin. In the game, the player controls a small hovering robot that sets about gathering stars to unlock the door to the next level.
The unique part of this game is the way it uses light. The game is presented through silhouettes that show you walls, guns, small crates and other level components. Most levels have a scout bot that moves around with a search light looking out for the player’s bot. If you move into the light, automatic turrets activate and destroy the player.

Some levels have fixed light sources that also trigger the turrets. The player must move boxes and other components to create shadows where he can hide from the search lights. The levels start off very simple and give you some tutorials. After the third level, the heat is turned up; the stars usually are sitting right in a pool of light near a turret. You must carefully create shadows that allow you to get the star and escape.
