Papa’s Freezeria – This charming, mind-blowingly addictive game is an ice-cream management shop game designed by Flipline. The idea is deceptively simple–manage this ice cream shop, another in Papa Louie’s restaurant series, and keep your customers happy–but it is challenging.
Featuring a snappy pop tune and cute scrolling banners with delectable cold treats, this little shop festooned with cherries and surrounded by palm trees is a happy retreat from the day. You meet Papa and are given assignments to keep his customers happy–as the S.S. Louie docks, you realize you’re in for more than you’d bargained for! Mix and blend up cool treats for greedy, wild-eyed customers. This would be especially good fun for anyone who has ever worked in the customer service industry!
If you do a mediocre job making the treats, your customer will shrug and tip you just a little–it’s good, clean, silly fun to try and get the appealing characters better tips, but just as much fun to irritate the customers, who have big round greedy eyes and looong demands. You can see how much you are earning–but it’s awfully tempting to take a break and make yourself a big, fluffy sundae instead. Could be diet-busting!
Papa’s Freezeria is pretty fun, probably best suited to young children, maybe before their first day working at the ice-cream parlor! It’s also a good way to show kids how much work it takes to make money, as all the steps you must go through to create the treats is fairly involved. First you take the order, then drag the ticket to the back. You blend the ice cream to their requests, and add an awful lot of toppings. And, after all this work, your customer may not even care for it at all. It’s a great introduction to the real world, with a fun soundtrack and colorful characters. Good summer fun.
